Hey Mambo, Mambo Italiano…

We woke to the most wonderful view in Mambo just as the sun was rising, the whole valley was covered with a blanket of low level clouds, it felt like we were in an airplane – watching the sun rise over the clouds was just superb.

Mambo in the morning

We decided to spend a full day in Mambo before heading off the next morning. A local guide was organised for us and we headed off for a walk – first heading over to the nearby town Mtae. There is yet another stunning view at the end of the spur that Mtae is perched on.

After spending a few minutes catching our breath and marvelling at the view we headed off again, back through the village and up into the forest behind.

Walking around Mtae

It was lovely to stretch the legs and go for a decent walk, especially in such lovely surroundings! The forest was very varied, lush old tress in parts and fresh planted tress in others. We arrived back in Mambo a few hours later, with a small army of local kids in tow, just as it started to rain.

My child army!

We grabbed some soda baridis (cold sodas) and chilled out in Mambo for the evening, enjoying another lovely communal dinner.
